Know Before You Go

Here are a few answers to commonly asked questions about our fair.

Q: “When is the sign up for morning clean up?”

A:  —  To sign up to volunteer for morning clean up, you will come to the fair office at 9 a.m. and there will be a sign up sheet. It is directed for children, since volunteers will get a free wristband in exchange, but we also ask for adults who will help lead them around.

Q: “Should I bring cash?”

A:  —  Yes. While we do have ATMs and vendors could potentially take venmo or other forms of payment, it is uncommon. Your safest bet is to bring some cash to avoid ATM lines.

Q: “Where can I buy tickets?”

A:  —  For our Grandstand events, we have a few options. You can buy tickets either on this website on the red “GET TICKETS” button, or through our office. You can call us at 605-297-4428 and buy them on the phone, or you can come in and purchase them in person. For our wristband and ride tickets, you can come into our office and buy them beforehand, or during the fair you can go to our designated wristband or ticket booths around the grounds.

Q: “Does it cost to get in?”

A:  —  Admission to walk around our fair is completely free. The only costs we have are for tickets and if you want to buy from a vendor.

Q: “When does the carnival open?”

A:  —  DC Lynch Carnival will have its rides going at 6 pm Monday evening. They cannot start earlier because the carnival employees come straight from a previous event and need to to rest to ensure your visit is safe.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: DC Lynch Carnival runs from 1 pm to roughly 10 pm

Measure your little ones. About five of the kiddie rides require children to be at least 36” tall. Bigger rides have requirements starting at 36”, 42”, & 46”.

Q: “Why should I get wristbands instead of buying normal ride tickets?”

A:  —  Wristbands giving you unlimited access to rides cost $25 a piece/day and are only good for a limited time. The times the wristbands are usable is:

          Tuesday: 4 pm – 9 pm

          Wednesday: 1 pm – 6 pm

          Thursday: 1 pm – 6 pm

YES THERE WILL BE LINES. Wednesday tends to be the most popular day with children lining up as early as 11:30 or before. Once sales start, the line moves fast. Have your CASH ready to make the process smoother for everyone

Q: “Books of tickets”

A:  —  You can buy a book of 20 ride tickets for $20 dollars at the ticket window at the fair office. There will be a kiosk on the midway as well.

Q: “When will trams be running?”

A:  —  We have trams running from parking lots and downtown Parker to help get you to the fair a little easier. These stop running at 10 PM

Q: “When do food vendors open?”

A:  —  Opening times vary. The average time they all open is roughly 11am.

4-H Lunch stand is open from 7 am – 9 pm

Q: “Do kids need a ticket in the grandstand events?”

A:  —  If the child will sit in your lap the whole time, they do not need a ticket. If they will sit in a seperate seat, they will need their own ticket.
